Jing Yang

Jing Yang obtained her BM from Columbus State University and her supervisor was Sergiu Schwarz. In the same year she won the Woodruff Award for Excellent at CSU. She won the first place twice at Intramural Concerto Competitions. Her solo performances conducted by Alfred Cohen and Paul Hostetter earned rave reviews. In 2010 she won second prize at the US MTNA National String Competition in Young Artist Category. In 2011 she was place the third at the Lagrange string competition. In 2012 she won the Golden Award at the Atlanta Music Competition. She obtained her Masters degree and Master of Musical Arts degree from Yale University School of Music. Born in China, at age 11 she became a fifth grader of the elementary school attached to the Central Music Conservatory of China studied with Zhao Weijian. At age 13 she was admitted into the Central Music Conservatory of China, taking lessons from Zhao Wei.
