Timpani,

Michael Rydzynski

Michael Rydzynski may have started late in percussion–first took it up in high school to stay out of glee club, first took lessons in college so as to declare a major in music–but he’s more than made up for lost time by staying very busy performing in more than a dozen groups all over the Southland. He also teaches percussion and band at a high school and has private students who then get first-hand experience performing in one or more of his regular orchestras. He has also taught piano for beginners, hosts his own radio show (on KUCI-FM) and has written many articles for newspapers (Register, Times) and magazines (Orange Coast) on the arts and other topics. He holds two degrees from UC Irvine in Percussion Performance (B.A., M.F.A.) and likes nothing better than to share his love of music with other music-lovers.
